What is Imli ki Kulfi?
Imli ki kulfi (or spiced tamarind Popsicles) conjures up vivid memories of street food, elbow-licking exercises to draw out the juices trickling down and a sharp contrast of flavours of heat-spice-tangy-sweet that comes from the base syrup. Yes we have all had the kala khatta, nimbu (lemon), naarangi(orange) flavoured golas (Popsicles) made out of crushed ice , but somehow eating that from a street vendor is something I don't relish - at-least in mumbai / bangalore where I live / grew up, the quality of the ice is quite suspect.

When I made the Instant Pot Date Tamarind Chutney (in less than 15 mins from start to finish), this imli kulfi is naturally an extension to make this lip smacking Imli Kulfi. Click below to see how to make this Date-Tamarind Chutney in bulk for chaats or to serve with snacks. And most importantly this kulfi 🙂
So like most street foods that we make and relish at home, we LOVED this ! The first time I made this it was gulped down so quickly that I had to make a second batch to click pics 😛
