Feeding kids with healthy options is no easy feat. I am sure like me, most moms out there face this dilemma on a daily basis, until they are 12 - 14 yrs old when they are able to choose. Moms of schoolgoers would give anything to pack lunches that work their way healthy into kids' tummies 🙂

I wanted to make this idea - Healthy Lunchbox Ideas (HLI) a monthly event hosted by any of you willing bloggers out there ! The central idea to this is that each month we pick up one of the foods from the 'most-hated list' of kids menus (listed below) and convert it into healthy ideas (no deep fried!)

Looking forward to your fullest participation and hosting schedules too 🙂

Do drop me a line onmomchef77@gmail.com( momchef77[at]gmail[dot]com)

Cheers

Kalyani a.k.a Mom Chef !

A brief thought process for hosts:

1) Choose a central theme from the list given below - participants should use this central ingredient and churn out healthy lunch box  / snack items for the kids

2) No archived entries as this is a challenge for moms/ bloggers to try out new and time-tested recipes that are totally guilt free  .... Now do send in upto 2 archived posts hyperlinked to this event !!

3) The month-long contest opens 1st of every month - hosts are requested to announce it as soon as they confirm with me on the central theme.

4) Would appreciate if interested hosts write in to me with their theme of choice for HLI event of the month by 25th of the previous month (eg: write to me by 25th May if you wish to host for June '11)

5) Hosts are also required to do the round up max by 5th of the succeeding month (eg: Round up for June 11 to be posted max by July 5th) -this is only to ensure all the posts are adequately covered month on month. Hosts to email me the round up URL so I can backlink it to this event.

Notes for participants :

1) As mentioned above, only fresh entries please based on the central ingredient chosen by the host

2) Vegetarian entries only although eggs are allowed for baking.

3) Use of logo (above)and trackback to this event announcement as well as that of the host's mandatory - this will help us spread the word around.

4) Entries can be for kids' snacks or  lunchbox items or after-school light bites but not deep fried - would welcome grilled / tossed / stir fry options.

    Hello friend,

http://foodeventsannouncement.blogspot.com/ on this chalkboard I have entered in information about your event, so that foodie bloggers like us can find almost everything regarding ongoing food events on our blogspot. Please use the email section to add in your event and also spread a word amongst your blogger friends, so that they can also participate in the same. As we all know how tired some it becomes to search events and how depress we get when later we come to know that we have missed such event where we could have participated. A small effort from my side so that I and my friends don’t miss out any such event. In return all I need is follow http://foodeventsannouncement.blogspot.com/ and http://yummyfoodintummy.blogspot.com/ blog publicly 🙂 Information to be entered in you email is:
    Name of event:
    Blog URL:
    Event Logo attached
    In subject mention: Event Announcements
